The 3rd day , after breakfast we started our path by climbing a series of steep steps , pausing every now and then to rest and admire the surroundings and the valley below which is spectacular . About an hour or so we reached the archeological site of Runcu Raccay at 4000m/13123ft which was the second highest point on our trail . Its time to decent our way to the Inca site Sayac Marca . During this decent we pass through two short tunnels and we continue going down until we come across a flat area before we start to ascend again where Sayac Marca lies at 3680m/12073ft which is the 3rd highest point on our trail .
A few minutes walk from here we
visited Phuyupatamarca Inca site
(meaning Town in the Clouds) the we continued ahead through the cloud forest and the Inca site of Intipata , followed by our third campsite WiƱay Wayna (meaning forever young ) 2680m/8792ft .We were all very happy that tonight we are having hot showers after 3 days trekking . After dinner the porters joined with us and sang some Peruvian songs and later we headed to the only bar nearby for beer.
